TomTom ONE XL Review

I have some basic thoughts on the new TomTom ONE XL that I think would be useful to others who are considering whether or not to buy one. I think that I made an excellent choice for my needs when I purchased the device.

- I loved the screen and I thought its brightness was perfect. Both the day and night screens are easy to see and easy to understand.
- The voice was perfect for me to clearly understand the turns I needed to make.
- The device was so easy to use that I could just plug in my destination and quickly go on my way. The manual wasn’t necessary, and I was able to navigate wherever I wanted to go with perfect ease.
- The GPS rerouted quickly and easily when I made wrong turns. If I chose to take another direction, it didn’t get “confused.” It just rerouted in the next possible way.
- TomTom’s maps seem to be on top of things and quite accurate. Even though I’ve read bad reviews concerning their maps, I haven’t had any problems
- The TomTom mount included with the device could have been a little longer, but overall it worked. The unit stayed in place nicely and the suction cup held firmly, not falling off like I’ve seen other companies’ GPS holders do. I found a very suitable place on my dash that was clearly visible but doesn’t impede the visibility that I need for driving.
- A really unimportant complaint of mine would be that I wish the points of interest would be sectioned in a way more like Garmin’s, but I can live without that.
